About Us
Pathway to Medicine Foundation was founded in Cleveland, Ohio. We understand the challenges that students face and are determined to make a difference in the future of medicine. From providing crucial information about medical careers and scholarships to facilitating volunteering opportunities and more, we're committed to helping you navigate your journey toward becoming a healthcare professional. At Pathway to Medicine, we believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue their passion for medicine. Join us in creating a brighter, healthier future for all!

In 2017, the AAMC reported that only 5% of students who attended medical school were in the lowest household-income quintile, whereas 24% of students were in the top 5%. Today, economic and racial inequalities continue to restrict many college students from attending medical school, whether that's due to the lack of MCAT resources they can't afford, or the high cost of university. We're devoted to making sure that a new first generation of doctors from any background can get whatever support they need on their path to medical school.
Our Mission
The Pathway to Medicine Foundation ensures that underrepresented first-generation college students from lower socioeconomic and immigrant backgrounds can overcome social and economic hurdles to pursue a career in medicine by offering financial and educational support.
Our Vision
Our vision is to ensure that first-generation students from low-income immigrant families have unconstrained access to medical education by removing financial barriers. By offering assistance, such as affordable MCAT preparation resources and financed application and interview processes, we hope to boost the presence of underrepresented communities in medicine and develop a workforce in the healthcare industry that is as diverse as the populations it serves.
Our Pillars
Equity
Regardless of background, we guarantee that all prospective medical students have equal access to opportunities and resources.
Support
We offer comprehensive mentoring that tackles the entire range of difficulties encountered by first-generation medical students.
Diversity
To promote more diversity and representation in medical education, we support systemic improvements in the field.
Community
To empower both aspiring and practicing medical professionals, we provide a robust network for collaboration and support.
Sustainability
To guarantee long-term success, we provide ongoing support and tools during the academic and professional transitions.
